Hello, my name is Jo Richardson, and for the last 18 years I have been teaching swimming at various swim schools, both private and city council run.During this time I have gathered a huge range of experience on how children learn and develop their swimming and water confidence. I am a fully qualified instructor having passed my ASA Full Teachers Award Level 2 , and ASA Adult and Child Water Activities Award. I am CRB checked, First Aid trained and also have my manual handling certificate which involves hoist training.These are all kept up to date .

Apart from teaching swimming, I work at a  primary school in Derby as a Learning Support Assistant. This has enabled me to work with children with special needs , a job I have found very enjoyable and rewarding.This has allowed me to develop my understanding of how children learn, the best way to communicate with them and encourage them so that they can be successful.
